More Horror Movies I've Watched Lately

I wanted to make a Halloween Movies post this month but I have a lot of movies and shows I've watched lately that I want to share before the year is over or it'll feel like its super late (it already is, but, oh well~ It could give you some ideas in case you want to watch some horror this month.

These are in no particular order, I'm just gonna order the ones that are sequels so they can be one after the other. It makes more sense, right? Let's just do this.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer

"The murderous fisherman with a hook is back to once again stalk the two surviving teens, Julie and Ray, who had left him for dead."

This movie is from 1998 and it's an American slasher film, sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer. I never really watched it since my favorite characters were killed in the first movie but, I felt like watching it before the 3rd movie came out this year, just in case I was missing something important. And honestly? I didn't like it that much. I mean, it wasn't bad, it was just... bleh. I mean, it did feel like a continuation cuz the story wasn't exactly the same as the first one but, to me, there was something missing. I dont know.

And then we have the sequel to that one...

I Know What You Did Last Summer 2025

"A group of friends are terrorised by a stalker who knows about a gruesome incident from their past."

This is also an American slasher film that came out this year. I was kinda looking forwart to it and even tho it wasn't the best movie ever, I enjoyed the fan service soooo much more than the "new story". Which wasn't exactly new, it was pretty similar to the first movie, I didn't care much about the new characters and their stories, the killer reveal wasn't that cool but, it did have a good plot twist. Seeing Freddie Prinze Jr, Jennifer Love Hewitt and, especially, Sarah Michelle Gellar back in this movie, was the best part for me.

The end felt a little too silly for me tho. But there was a post credit scene that leaves things open to another movie. This time featuring Brandy too. Will I watch it? Probably, hehe.

These next two are rewatches because you know, I'm on my Sarah Michelle Gellar rewatch year.

The Grudge

"Karen is an American nurse living in Tokyo who is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse. The curse is a vengeful spirit that possesses a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and then spreads to another victim."

The Grudge is a 2004 supernatural horror film that, to me, feels like a classic. I remember I used to find it scary years ago. Now that I watched it again, it didn't feel as scary as I remembered but, it still made me jump a couple of times (mostly with the loud noises) and, I still liked it. Plus, it takes place in Japan, and we all know I love Japan way too much. That's an extra something. I feel like this could be a yearly rewatch for me, I like the story and I think it has aged well.

The Grudge 2

"Devious spirits created after the Saeki family was murdered still haunt the people and claim their victims. Aubrey, Karen's sister, goes to Tokyo to save Karen from the clutches of the evil spirit."

The Grudge 2 came out in 2006, and it's the sequel of The Grudge, this time, following Karen's sister. I liked this one but I still like the first one a lot more. That usually happens to me, I love the originals more than the sequels but, it was still good and I enjoyed it. Now that I'm writing this, I want to rewatch The Ring too, I used to love that movie so, so much. And I feel like they have a similar vibe even tho they are different stories.

The Black Phone

"Finney Shaw is a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who's being held in a soundproof basement by a sadistic, masked killer. When a disconnected phone on the wall starts to ring, he soon discovers that he can hear the voices of the murderer's previous victims -- and they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn't happen to Finney."

This is a 2021 supernatural American horror movie, it took me a while to watch it despite all the great things I heard about it but, it did not disappoint. It was good! It has some good jump scares, effects didn't feel or look fake and the story just kept me hooked. There's a sequel coming soon, and I'm sure I'll be watching it.

Heretic

"Two young missionaries become ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they knock on the door of the diabolical Mr. Reed. Trapped in his home, they must turn to their faith if they want to make it out alive."

This one was mom's recommendation and we actually watched it together. It is a psychological horror film that came out last year. Psychological horror has to be one of my favorite types of horror and if it's mixed with religion, win win for me. I'm so not religious but I find religious horror movies SO entertaining for some reason. I liked this one, it felt a little long and slow every now and then but, all in all, I enjoyed it. To me, the ending was a little surprising and it was different for me to see Hugh Grant playing this character. I haven't watched many of his movies but, for some reason, I always connect him with romantic comedies.

Longlegs

"FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again."

This is another movie that came out this year, it's an American horror thriller that I heard was one of the scariest movies this year. I had high expectations when I watched it which wasn't a good thing because, even tho it wasn't a bad movie, it just didn't do it for me. Yes, it had good scenes, tension and the story is good but, it felt a little slow. Plus, this might just me but, I thought some things were not that well explained.

Bring her back

"A brother and sister witness a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother."

Shortest summary ever, lol. Bring Her Back is a 2025 Australian supernatural horror movie. It's actually one of the most recent movies in this post. And I have to say that I defo recommend it. I really, really liked it. The story keeps you hooked until the end. There are some scenes that are very difficult to watch, and I think those were the ones I found the scariest. The story is good, one of the main topics here is grief and that is why I think it also worked for me. The end was sad tho, very sad. It didn't make me cry but, yeah...

Cuckoo

"Seventeen-year-old Gretchen reluctantly leaves America to live with her father at a resort in the German Alps. Plagued by strange noises and bloody visions, she soon discovers a shocking secret that concerns her own family."

Lastly we have Cuckoo, a 2024 German & American science fiction, horror, thriller movie (yes, those are too many genres in one). I watched this movie with high expectations and it just wasn't for me. Not saying it's bad but there were things I just didn't understand, it felt slow and the end just didn't work for me. I'm not a huge science fiction fan so maybe that had something to do with it. Worst movie ever? Nope but, I don't think I'd rewatch this one.

And those are some of the horror movies I've watched lately. My mom sent me this October Movie Calendar and I've been trying to follow it. I might change some movies cuz I've watched or rewatched some of them this month. I'll include the calendar here in case you want to watch some of them too.

Feel free to send me recommendations of your favorite horror movies. I love to watch and discover movies I didn't know existed or watch some I wouldn't choose on my own.

See you next time~!💋

Bad Horror Movies I've Watched

So, we know I love horror movies and yeah, sometimes I complain about them not being scary anymore but, I also have these days when I feel like watching really bad horror movies. You know, those with terrible effects, bad acting and even funny in way when they are not supposed to be funny. Why? just for entertainment, haha. Some of these movies were SO bad that I actually enjoyed them, I don't know if that's weird.

So today, I'm gonna share some of them with you. This is just my personal opinion, I'm sure there are people out there who actually like these movies. What can I say? There's something for everyone.

Anyway, let's start. These are in no particular order.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey

"As a young Christopher forsakes Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, their innocence decays. Soon, the two unleash their feral impulses, developing an insatiable hunger for blood."

I didn't know there was a Winnie The Pooh horror movie, it never crossed my mind until one of my 3rd grade students told me about it, he saw parts of it on TikTok and kinda recommended it since he knew I loved horror.

It is a movie from 2023 and it's an independent British slasher. I kinda like the idea of classic tales and characters in a darker story and I also know there are some really good independent horror movies out there but... this was not the case. At least for me.

It's bloody, of course but, it lacks lots of other things to make it a good slasher. Yeah, the idea is the typical one, girls going on holiday and getting killed by these giant fantasy characters (that really look like dudes wearing masks) but, is really predictable and acting isn't bad but is not the best either. I don't remember where I watched this movie but I'm sure it's not difficult to find online.

I watched this movie back in 2023 but decided to include it here, not only because I never talked about it but also because I found out there was second movie not long ago...

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2

"Not wanting to live in the shadows any longer, Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Owl and Tigger take their fight to the town of Ashdown, leaving a bloody trail of death and mayhem in their wake."

I'll admit this one was better than the first movie, not great, just better, it was released last year. Acting improved and Wiinie and the orhers looked a little less costume-like. It's still pretty bloody and gory and it has SO many random deaths. In this movie we actually learn more about where the evil characters come from, why they kill (kinda) and their connection with Christopher. The end leaves a door open for a 3rd movie so, we'll see.

I also found this online, I'm not sure if some streaming platforms have it.

Baby Doll

"Four foreign exchange students are forced to take shelter in an abandoned home after discovering the villa they were supposed to be staying in is no longer available. Before long, one of the students hears whispers and sees creepy things everywhere."

This is a 2021 Italian horror movie, not sure if it was independent too. There's something about dolls in horror movies that could be really good but this one didn't do it for me. Acting wasn't believable, effects were off and... I think this one was my least favorite out of this list. The idea and the story weren't new but, it could've worked. I just think it wasn't executed that well.

You can find this on Tubi.

And now, in case we didn't have enough classic tales, we have a Humpty Dumpty triology... yeah. I watchend them in the wrong order and, even tho the first one I watched was bad, I wanted to watch more after I finished that one so, I ended up watching the 3 movies. They are all available on Tubi too.

The Curse of Humpty Dumpty

"Wendy returns to her childhood home wither her daughters after she is diagnosed with dementia. While there, they come across a mysterious doll that Wendy seems to have strange, fragmented memories of. As Wendy fights to collect the missing pieces of her past, the daughters discover the dark history of this sinister and deadly doll named Humpty Dumpty."

This one is from 2021, and it's the first of the triology but, the second one I watched. And I have to say, it was the best out of the 3. The idea wasn't bad but the effects are. I don't think wounds have to be super there or super realistic all the time but in these movies in general, they didn't even try. Just super fake blood all over with no wound marks even if they are big ones, Humpty Dumpty is kinda creepy but, it loses all that when you can see the mask out of place...I don't know, it had many details that made it...bad.

The Cult of Humpty Dumpty

"A group of troubled teen girls are taken to a remote camp and soon learn they're in the clutches of a cult that worships the demonic Humpty Dumpty"

Second Humpty Dumpty movie, last one I watched. It is from 2022 and honestly, it was the worst out of the 3 movies. Worst story, worst acting, worst ending, scenes were inconsistent. It was just so silly! The only thing I wanna highlight is that they mentioned "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" at some point and, that made me happy. LOL.

The Madness of Humpty Dumpty

A young woman suffering from early onset schizophrenia, begins experiencing unnatural occurrences with a strange doll after moving back to her childhood home in the countryside.

Last Humpty Dumpty movie, first one I watched. This is the most recent, from 2023. I feel like my  opinion here is same as with the previous one, the acting was just bad, the bloody scenes super fake. Story could've been saved but, it just didn't happen. Yet, after watching this one, I was curious to watch the others so... yeah. I don't know why I do this things.

And, that'l be it for now. Would I watch these movies again? Absolutely not. But if you wanna watch something bad and not serious at all, feel free to take this as a recommendation. Plus, I've noticed Tubi seems to be the best place for bad horror. I've watched others that were kinda irrelevant there too.
I'm sure by the time I post this, I''ll already have more bad movies to add so, I might make more posts like this in the future.

See you next time~! 💋

Asian Shows And Movies I've Watched Lately

It's weird to write about these shows as if I'd watched them lately cuz, it's been a couple of months since I actually watched them but, it was still this year, it just takes me forever to share them around here. And I still have a long list of movies and shows to share, hehe.

Anyway, today I want to share some some Japanese, Korean and Thai shows and movies I really liked.

Turn to me Mukai-kun

"Though handsome and successful, Satoru Mukai suddenly realizes he's been single for ten whole years and has no idea how to initiate a new relationship."

I randomly chose this drama cuz I was going through a phase in which I only felt like watching Japanese drama and I ended up really liking it. It is a mix of drama, comedy and romance but, I loved the way they showed how different people feel about relationships and what they think it right for them even if it's not the stereotypical relationship.
It is a short drama with only 10 episodes, I think I watched it in like a week.

Destiny

"
Kanade Nishimura must confront the suspicious death case from her law school days. This leads her to examine the truth behind her father's death."

Honestly, at first I thought I wouldn't like this one because it was "law" related but, I was wrong. It's a very good drama. It's definitey darker than the previous one, it's a bit of a thriller with mystery and romance. It really makes you want to watch more after every episode to find out more about the story. I wouldn't say it's my kind of drama but I'd defo recommend it. Plus, it's super short, it only has 9 episodes.

Asura

"Four sisters face turbulence when their father's affair is exposed. Embodying the tumultuous asura demigods, they clash over differing outlooks on love."

I have to say, out of the 3 Japanese dramas I'm sharing here, this one was my favorite. First, I loved the setting of the story, second they way they showed each characters' individual stories and how they all connected and lastly, the way they showed the relationship between all the family members, I think it was a very real way to show it.

This was very short too, with only 7 episodes. I have mixed feelings with short shows, I like finishing them but, then I wish they'd last longer. I feel like they way it ended is open to have a second season, but I don't know if it'll happen. I hope so.

Those are all the Japanese dramas, you can find them on Netflix.

Beauty Water

"Ye-ji comes across mysterious water that enables her to lose weight and reshape her appearance. She finds her life is more in danger the more she desires to be beautiful."

This Korean horror animated movie was my sister's recommendation. It reminds me of The Substance so much. I think it's my first Korean animated thriller and, it was defo worth it, highly recommend it. Apparently it's on Crunchyroll but I couldn't find it there back when I watched it.

Don't Come Home

"
A mother and her young daughter flee to their family's abandoned mansion but soon find themselves haunted by paranormal incidents."

This is a 6 episodes long Thai show that is a mix of a thriller with mystery and sci-fi. It started off really good but it kinda lost me at some point. I'm not a big sci-fi fan so the last few episodes were a little confusing and I lost interest. It's not a bad show tho, it was just not my favorite.

Morimoto's Sushi Master Season 2

I think I mentioned this cooking competition before, back when I watched the first season. Same as with the previous one, I started binge watching as soon as it premiered. It was short tho, it only has 6 episodes but, I love it. It always makes me crave some good Japanese food.

And that will be it for this post guys, there are still many more shows and especially movies I've watched (mostly horror) that are waiting to be shared around here. Maybe I'll share some of them next month. For now, let me know if you've watched one of these or, if you'd like to. Also feel free to send me recommendations!!

See you next time~! 💋

Movies I've watched lately | Horror, Psychological Thrillers & Drama |

During March I watched a lot of movies and shows so, I think it's time for another recommendation post. This time I'm only going to focus on movies. Most of them are movies from the 90s, because you know, the nostalgia.

I have some horror, drama and a psychological thriller so, let's get started!

Interview With The Vampire

It took me forever to watch this movie and even tho I am not a Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise fan, I loved it. It's a classic 1994 gothic horror film about a man named Louis who was an 18th-century lord and now a vampire. He starts telling his story to this reporter (I believe), how he was suicidal after his family died, how he bacame a vamp and the things he's gone through throughout his long life.

The movie is long but it doesn't feel slow. There's something about it that makes it beautiful to watch. I really enjoyed it, I wish I could've watched it sooner!!

I Know What You Did Last Summer

"After a night of revelry, four friends accidentally run over a man and dump his body to conceal their secret, unaware that the following year brings a series of eerie events in their lives."

This one is from 1997 and it's the typical movie where the main characters are stalked by a killer, attempting to kill them one by one. I'm not gonna lie, these movies are predictable most of the time, and they are not my favorite kind of horror movies but, they are still entertaining. I hate it when my favorite characters die tho~

Scream

I think this, along with other movies included in this list, are classics. Scream was released back in 1996 and it's a slasher film.

"When Sidney receives a mysterious phone call and finds that her friends are being killed, she suspects that a serial killer may be on the prowl, who is also linked to her mother's murder."

I don't know if it's just me but, some parts of the movie just made me laugh. It felt more like a horror - comedy film than just a horror one. Not saying that I don't like it or didn't enjoy it tho. I know there are many Scream movies now and honestly, I haven't watched them yet. Maybe I will soon to continue now that I have the information and everything that happened fresh in my mind. Hehe.

I looooved Rose McGowan in this movie.

Scream 2

Sequel of Scream, was released in 1997 and, it still follows Sidney, who is now in college, after surviving everything that happened in the frst movie. The killings start happening again and of course, she's the target.

The Ritual

This one is a British psychological horror film from 2017. I didn't know about it until I learned about the Jotun earlier this year and felt really curious.

"A trip to the Swedish wilderness turns murky as four friends try to mend their strained relationships. However, in the forest, they realise that they are not alone."

I found the movie interesting, not scary. Somehow it reminded me of The Blair Witch Project in a way. Maybe because of the whole forest thing, I don't know.

Delicious

This movie was my mom's recommendation cuz she thought it was vampireish but after watching it, I think it's more like a cannibalish movie. It is a psychological thriller that was released earlier this year.

"During their vacation in the French countryside, a wealthy German family becomes entangled with a young hotel worker harbouring sinister intentions."

In my opinion, the movie wasn't bad, it was just... weird? Some european movies are like that and I like that, they feel different. I just felt the ending left some questiong floating. Idk. It's worth watching, I just don't consider it a great one or something that I'd watch again.

Cruel Intentions

Lastly we have, Cruel Intentions. Even tho it is a popular movie, it was my first time watching it.

"Sebastian tries to seduce Annette, his headmaster's virgin daughter, to win a bet with his step-sister Kathryn. She wants his costly car while he wants a night with her. But Annette has other plans."

I know it's more like a teen drama but, I really liked and enjoyed it. I like Reese Witherspoon, I love Sarah Michelle Gellar and I used to have a big crush on Ryan Phillippe so, yeah.

And, those are some of the movies I've watched lately. As always, I'm open to recommendations and I'd love to know if you've seen some of these, if you liked them or, if you'd like to watch them. Let me know!!

See you next time~! 💋

☾ Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie

Sailor Moon Cosmos was finally released outside Japan! I waited for over a year to watch it since it came out back in June 2023 and all we could see were movie trailers. I was especially excited because it was supposed to cover the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars season, which is one of my all time favorites.
You all know I've been a Sailor Moon fan for pretty much all my life so, it was defo a must watch for me.
So yeah, I watched the 2 part movies on the release date (Aug. 22nd) and I thought I should come here to share my thoughts on the movies as someone who loves this story and its characters, just as I did with the Sailor Moon Eternal Movie. Not much has changed since the SM Eternal movie tho, I still haven't finished watching Sailor Moon Crystal and, haven't read the manga. From what I know, these movies are also the last chapter of SM Crystal and, are more loyal to the manga. Still, it's easy to understand if you watched the 90's anime but, you do have to watch SM Eternal first cuz it is a continuation in a way.

This won't be a movie review and it might be a little over the place, hehe. Hope not to spoil anything.
I really suck at writing synopsis so I'll just include the one from the Netflix website to give you a general idea:

"Sailor Moon must stand up and fight once again when a new enemy called Shadow Galactica, an organization bent on destroying everything and ruling the universe, begins eliminating her friends one by one. Her task requires her to persevere when solitude threatens to overwhelm her. Will she be able to protect those she loves? What awaits her beyond the battle? Sailor Moon fights on despite the pressure of her self-imposed mission as the final chapter of the beautiful and strong Sailor Guardians begins."—Netflix

I watched the spanish dub because they had some of the original voice actors back in this movie and, you know, the nostalgia. It was weird to get used to some of the new voices they had tho, they changed some of my favorites!! But I want to watch the original Japanese version too. It was funny to hear them using the "chan" and "san" along with the spanish dialogs again. Plus, they used too much spanglish in my opinion in all the attacks and transformations. (Says someone who uses spanglish in her daily life, hehe). The character design and animation is pretty good and beautiful, I'd say I liked it more than the one of the previous movies.

These movies are a lot darker and dramatic, we don't get to see many funny moments in the slice of life scenes. But as always it has a strong "power of love and frienship" message that I always like about the show.

There were so many changes that caught my attention cuz I wasn't expecting them. But hey, this is me only comparing it to the 90's anime.
First was, Usagi's engagement ring, it was pretty but kinda different from the original design I always loved.

New engagement ring~ ♡

For some reason, Haruka & Michiru went to the same school as the other Senshi this time, nothing wrong with that but I liked their old uniform so much!
One thing I didn't really like was how much the relationship between the Sailor Senshi and the Star Lights changed in these movies. Even how it developed and stuff. I get it's a movie and things are supposed to go faster but, still. They even changed the Three Lights personalities a lot, I felt something was missing! Seiya's relationship with Usagi wasn't the same, it wasn't fun and super cute as it was in the anime.

Sadly, I didn't see these two as much. I love them SO MUCH!

Three Lights!

Oh well~ I did have a fangirl moment when I heard the new version of "Nagareboshi He".
But in general, I don't think they were super relevant in the story and they didn't give them an ending(?), they just disappeared! Princess Kakyuu seemed a little more relevant at the beginning but she only had a senshi transformation and got killed almost right away, she wasn't of much help really.

Three Lights performing "Nagareboshi He"

Sailor Star Lights

When I was younger, I always thought Princess Kakyuu would be way more powerful than she actually is~

I feel like Chibi Chibi had a more important role now, and she even speaks this time and we can see her transformations to Sailor Cosmos.
Chibiusa had her moment and it was kinda cool to see her with her Senshi (if you saw SM Eternal you'll know what I'm talking about) but, they were not that skilled either.

Sailor Cosmos

I wonder if there could be a continuation featuring the new generation of Senshi...

We see a lot of different enemies, including the Sailor Senshi and Mamo-chan at some point. You know, they all "die" and become evil, and only Sailor Moon can end this fight. I don't usually like the villians in this anime but I do have to admit, Sailor Galaxia is super beautiful when she's not wearing her typical outfit.

As usual, dear Mamo-chan is kinda useless, not even his evil form fights! He only stands there giving orders and dies easily. Sad, but true.

After the big fight on the second movie we see everyone going back to life and to their normal lives, then we have the big moment, Usagi and Mamo-chan's wedding, that was one of my favorite things when I was a young girl. I'm not sure about this but, it looks like Usagi is pregnant in the end? I'm not sure, that's how I saw it.

All in all, and to finish this random and unplanned post; I did enjoy these movies, they were just not my favorites. I didn't have expectations but they changed so many things I loved from the Sailor Stars season and didn't give closure to some things and characters. Still, I think it's worth watching if you're a Sailor Moon fan. My inner girl is always happy whenever she sees something new that is Sailor Moon related.

See you next time~! ♡
