Horror Movies I've Watched Lately

I still have some shows and movies I want to share around here so, here we are again, with another recommendations post, hehe. This time will be all about horror, my fav. I'm only including the ones I did like and enjoy but, I've also watched some that were defo not good, I don't know if you guys would be interested in those too. Let me know!

Let's start!

The Substance

"Fading actress Elisabeth Sparkle becomes distressed when her chauvinistic boss fires her from her aerobics show. She soon injects herself with a mysterious serum that promises a younger, better version of herself, but things go horribly wrong."

It took me a while to watch tthis movie but, it was totally worth it! I'm sure most people have already seen it but, I still wanted to include it here, just in case.
I thought it was great, gross and very true to today's beauty standards. I have to say tho, I didn't love the ending, there was something missing. But that's just me.
P.S. Demi Moore looks stunning in this movie, I mean, she's always been gorgeous but, yeah.

The Fly

"A scientist creates a teleportation machine and decides to test it. However, a fly enters the machine and their genes get spliced. Gradually, he finds himself transforming into a grotesque creature."

This was a recommendation I didn't expect to like, hehe. It's an old one (1986) but I have to say it surprised me, I ended up enjoying it a lot. It was a nice surprise to see Geena Davis there. It has a couple of gross scenes but nothing too difficult to watch.
While I was looking for this movie I saw other movie with the same title but I not sure if they are sequels, remakes or what.

The Monkey

"When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tears their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree, forcing the estranged siblings to confront the cursed toy."

The Monkey is a 2025 horror - comedy movie that I surprisingly enjoyed. I'm not a big comedy fan but this one kept me entertained. It's based on Stephen King's short story, so I'm sure many people love it. Even tho it's not a scary movie, I recommend it if you like dark comedy.

Late Night with The Devil

"In 1977, Jack Delroy, the host of a failing late-night show, decides to film a Halloween special. However, the broadcast takes a dark turn, unleashing evil into the nation's living rooms."

This one was also a recommendation that I ended up enjoying more than I thought I would, especially because of how different it is from other moves I've seen. It makes you feel as if you were really just watching an old talk show from the 70's before all the action happens. It's very well made. Then again, not scary but, worth watching.

The Grudge (Netflix)

"The movie follows events in 2004 to 2006 in a small Pennsylvanian town. Nurse Fiona Landers brings the spirit from Japan to America."

For some reason I keep finding movies that are related to The Grudge I didn't know existed. I found this Netflix one when I was looking for the Sarah Michelle Gellar one. It is from 2019 and, I wouldn't say it's the best Grudge movie because sometimes it gets weird and confusing but, it isn't the worst. Seeing John Cho there was a nice surprise.

The Others

"Grace moves into a new house with her children in Jersey. However, when inexplicable events start to take place at the residence, Grace becomes convinced that the house is haunted."

This is the only rewatch I'm including this time. I watched this movie in theaters when it came out back in 2001 and loved it. Watching it again, it did not disappoint! It is still as good as I remember. Defo one of my favorite movies.

And, that's it guys! As I'm typing this, I've already watched and re-watched many more horror movies so, I guess I'll be sharing more next month. As always, let me know if you've watched some of these and feel free to send me some recommendations!

See you next time~!💋

Spooky Haul (More like a bats haul )🦇

I feel like I should call this a "bat haul" cuz I've been a little obsessed with bats lately and most of the things you'll find here are bat related.
I've been collecting a couple of things for the past few weeks and decided to share another spooky, halloweeny haul while I wait for my beloved October.

I'll start with all the bat stuff, everything is from Temu.

First is this bat wing lip balm holder. I didn't even know there were lip balms holders out there! (That's how it was described but, I've seen other sellers describing it as a lighter holder so, Idk) They are the cutest! Honestly, it's not too big so you can only put a very thin lipstick or lip balm but, since it has a ring, you can also hang it from your bag or with your keys and it makes a pretty cute charm. It's made of faux leather and even tho it's pretty simple, the details on it are very well made. I'm in love with it.

My bag has seen better days but, I wanted to show you how the bat wing looks hanging from it.

This was one of those extra things that you add to your cart to reach the free shipping, hehe. But I do like them. They are small heart earrings with bat wings. They are supposed to have this "old silver" kind of look. They are pretty and simple. Different from the other bat earrings I already have. They also had them in red, I might buy them next time, they could be perfect for Valentine's Day.

I remember seeing something similar in an anime convention a while ago and, I really liked them, but I never got one. This time, I couldn't resist. It is a bat hair clip and I was actually impressed with the quality. It's made of metal and it's a little heavy. The details on it are pretty good too. Of course it's not going to hold a lot of hair but it looks really pretty in a half updo. Plus, it's a subtle way to add something spooky to an everyday outfit.

These silicone covers came together, I kept the bat and gave the skull away as a pressie. They are very, very cute and I have others on my wishlist too, I think they would make a very cute gift complement. The size is good, it was slightly big on the straws I have but, nothing too bad. They had a ton of different colos to choose from.

Moving on, these two last things aren't from Temu.

I found these cute Nightmare Before Christmas bag clips at one of my fav dollar-like stores, Prichos. The set came with two identical Jack faces so, since they had 2 different designs, my sister and I decided to get both and exchange so we could have both faces each. They are fun, cute and also useful.

I was veeeery excited when I found these! Especially this early in the year. I love Oreo so the fact that they were Halloween popcorn with these cookies made it a must try for me.
They definitely taste like Oreos and they are good but, they are way too sweet! Even for me, and I love sweet! Would I buy them again? Definitely!

How cute are these? My black cat bowl felt like the perfect one to use when I tried them.

And, that's everything for this haul. This has become a monthly thing now and I just love it. I'm sure we'll have another one next month so, yeah.

Until next time~!🖤

| MINISO | Minimalist Velvet Lipstick💄

I used to buy makeup from Miniso often, I don't really know when or why I stopped since they have good quality and great prices; but not long ago my mom gave me this lipstick from their Minimalist collection. It's the Minimalist Velvet Lipstick in the shade #13, which is this kind of burnt orange shade, if you've been around here for a while, you'll know I was a big orange lippie fan years ago. Even tho I'm a little more into nude or dark pink shades at the moment, I still like orange and peachy shades a lot.

It's described as a semi-warm color, It has creamy texture with a velvet finish. It's very smooth and glides on easily. It claims to have an intense color and long-lasting hydration The presentation is simple yet pretty. It also feels velvety without being velvety, if that makes any sense.

I actually really like this color, in a way, it's on the nude side too. I do have to apply lip balm before the lippie because if I don't do it, the lipstick will set on the lines of my dry lips and, that is not pretty.

Durabily wise, it is not that great, the color fades even if I don't eat or drink anything os you do have to re-touch it every now and then.

To me, it has this sublte but good cookie scent, hehe.

I don't know how many more shades this collection has but from what I've seen, they are all very wearable and (most of them) on the neutral side.

And, I think that'll be it for this short lippie post, I like sharing a little something makeup related each month around here again cuz, I still love makeup even if I don't try or buy new stuff that often anymore.

See you next time~!💋

Summer Tag! ☀️

Last year I started sharing "seasonal question tags", I answered one for Fall and one for Winter. I totally missed Spring this year, oops! But I did remember Summer and found this short one. And I'm glad it's short cuz I don't think I have many Summer favs... we'll see.

Summer is not my fav season, I don't dislike it, I just think it'd be my least favorite one. Ironically, this tag is called I heart Summer Tag... Oh well~ Let's do this!

1. Your dream summer vacation.
I don't think I have a "dream" Summer vacation but, it's no secret I'd loooove to go to Japan, so that could be my first option. But I guess a fun day at the beach or in a swimming pool, with the typical drinks, snacks and games could be an ideal one. You know, like those anime beach summer specials. Haha.

2. Favorite summer drink.
Super cold beer, fresh coktails and ice cream floats.

Mom & I especially love to make ice cream floats during Summer.

3. S’mores or ice cream?
Ice cream!

4. Pool or Beach?
Pool? just because I rarely go to the beach. But I love the beach.

5. Would you rather spend a summer day outside in the pool or inside watching Netflix?
This is a toguh one cuz I really enjoy both things. Both maybe? Pool in the morning and Netflix after that.

6. Your most fun summer memory?
Honestly I don't think I have just one, most of the Summers I spent at my gradparents' in my hometown were the best. Grandpa would take us to the pool, to the movies, the circus, we would spend hours playing, dancing and singing with my cousins and had fun sleepovers. Those are memories I cherish a lot.

A walk down memory lane! I realized I don't have many pics of our Summers there so, I just picked a few of the ones I found. I wish I had a phone with a camera back then, I'm sure I'd have tons of fun pics with my cousins and grandparents.

7. Favorite summer nail polish?
I've been wearing darker colors or glue-on nails lately but last Summer I wore this super bright and fun lilac color from Bissú called "Corazón soñador" (533). I think it's a great color for the season.

8. Sunglasses or hats?
Sunglasses! I do like hats just... not on me I guess. I feel weird wearing them. But I do love sunglasses and I wear them often.

9. Favorite summer scent?
I don't think I have one. I like fruity scents tho, especially watermelon, strawberry and cherry. But I'm not sure if all of those can be considered Summer scents.

10. Favorite BBQ food?
I'll go with the classics: hamburgers and hot-dogs.

11. Bikinis, tankinis, or one pieces?
I think I like them all, I'm just not confident enough to wear a bikini. So I think tankinis or one pieces.

12. Summertime book recommendations.
I honestly don't read much. I've been reading more this year but I don't think I've read something with Summer vibes yet~ I'm open to recommendations tho.

And that is that guys! It was a pretty short tag but I always enjoy answering them. Feel free to send me some Summer recommendations to make this season a bit more... summery, haha. (Summerween stuff is always more than welcome!)

See you next time~!💋

Upgrading My Coffee Station! ☕

A couple of years ago I shared what I did with my coffee station, I actually put a lot of love and effort into it and I was pretty proud of what I did with it. But even tho I was happy with it, I knew I wanted to change it at some point. I don't know about you guys but, whenever someone DIYs something I love it but, whenever I do it, I feel it looks too... well, DIYed and not in the best way.

Not long ago, I found this kitchen cabinet thing for a very good price on Temu (yes, I've been obsessed with Temu lately) and decided to get it and finally upgrade the space.

Before I continue, I want to show you how it looked before. I've changed some things and added more decor since the last time I shared it in here.

This was how it looked right before I changed it. I was still planning to add more decor above the shelf. At the bottom I had a basket with random things, my french press and some mugs to make some tea. And I also had Masha's favorite hideout.

Since the desk is still strong and in a very good condition despite how old it is (it's been with me since I was a teenager so, yeah~), I gave it to my mom, she needed a working desk so, I'm glad we can still keep it in the family and give it a good use.

Now, let me show you how it looks now. I liked the new cabinet thing because it had the same length as the desk and was only slighty taller so it'd perfectly fit the space I already had. One thing I didn't like  and you'll see it in the pictures is that some of the parts of the cabinet were damaged and of course it bothers me but, I wasn't expecting it to be super high quality. Most of the damaged pieces are hidden, the only obvious one is on the right door, I'll have to find a way to fix it or cover it somehow.

Plus, as I was puttin it together, I had to make my own fixes because the doors kept coming out of place when I opened them and two of the wouldn't stay closed. I'm proud of myself for finding a way to make it work.

I kept the top shelf, it still matches pretty well. As you can see, I still have the same things, just organized differently and I added 2 more signs to fill the empty spaces it had before.

The top shelf remained pretty much the same as it was before, I really like the Coffee Station sign. Even tho it's just a flat, metal sign, it looks 3D if you if you see it from the front. I wish it was 3D for real...

Closer look to the things I have on the top shelf:
On the left we have a black, metal sign my mom gave me not too long ago, a frame with a napking I kept from a café in spain that says "Batería baja, necesito cafeína", a sakura cup that was a pressie and my Witches Brew reusable cup.
In the center there's my bamboo, a framed pic I got years ago at an anime con with some cakes and drinks on it and two pottery pieces made by the bestie.
And, on the right is my new Witches Brew Coffee House sign, a tea pot and other ceramic cups.
I do change the things I have up here depending on the season, especially for Halloween and Christmas.

And now, the actual cabinet. I like it because the doors help me to keep some things hidden and it doesn't look messy. I kept the old signs I had, my coffee maker, the espresso machine, my most used cups and mugs and some tea and coffee.

Closer look to the lower part.
On the right pic you can take a look inside the doors where I put my cups and mugs, it doesn't really show but it's deep enough to store 3 rows of cups, I still have a lot of space to sotre more! Hehe.
On the left is what I have inside the biggest door, here I have more reusable cups, thermos and some tea stuff.

As I was moving everything to this cabinet, I decluttered a little and got rid of some stuff. Now I have more space in the kitchen to store other things and have everything coffee related here.

Before and after pics ♡

There are still things I want to get, change and add but all in all, I'm very happy with how it looks, everything looks more put together and organized. It took me a while to upgrade it but, I think it was defo worth it.

I'll include the video version of this whole thing in case you want to check the process a little bit more or you just wanna skip the reading part, haha.

That'll be it for now, there are other things in the house I want to work on so, hopefully I'll be able to share those changes around here soon.

See you next time~!

Asian Shows And Movies I've Watched Lately

It's weird to write about these shows as if I'd watched them lately cuz, it's been a couple of months since I actually watched them but, it was still this year, it just takes me forever to share them around here. And I still have a long list of movies and shows to share, hehe.

Anyway, today I want to share some some Japanese, Korean and Thai shows and movies I really liked.

Turn to me Mukai-kun

"Though handsome and successful, Satoru Mukai suddenly realizes he's been single for ten whole years and has no idea how to initiate a new relationship."

I randomly chose this drama cuz I was going through a phase in which I only felt like watching Japanese drama and I ended up really liking it. It is a mix of drama, comedy and romance but, I loved the way they showed how different people feel about relationships and what they think it right for them even if it's not the stereotypical relationship.
It is a short drama with only 10 episodes, I think I watched it in like a week.

Destiny

"
Kanade Nishimura must confront the suspicious death case from her law school days. This leads her to examine the truth behind her father's death."

Honestly, at first I thought I wouldn't like this one because it was "law" related but, I was wrong. It's a very good drama. It's definitey darker than the previous one, it's a bit of a thriller with mystery and romance. It really makes you want to watch more after every episode to find out more about the story. I wouldn't say it's my kind of drama but I'd defo recommend it. Plus, it's super short, it only has 9 episodes.

Asura

"Four sisters face turbulence when their father's affair is exposed. Embodying the tumultuous asura demigods, they clash over differing outlooks on love."

I have to say, out of the 3 Japanese dramas I'm sharing here, this one was my favorite. First, I loved the setting of the story, second they way they showed each characters' individual stories and how they all connected and lastly, the way they showed the relationship between all the family members, I think it was a very real way to show it.

This was very short too, with only 7 episodes. I have mixed feelings with short shows, I like finishing them but, then I wish they'd last longer. I feel like they way it ended is open to have a second season, but I don't know if it'll happen. I hope so.

Those are all the Japanese dramas, you can find them on Netflix.

Beauty Water

"Ye-ji comes across mysterious water that enables her to lose weight and reshape her appearance. She finds her life is more in danger the more she desires to be beautiful."

This Korean horror animated movie was my sister's recommendation. It reminds me of The Substance so much. I think it's my first Korean animated thriller and, it was defo worth it, highly recommend it. Apparently it's on Crunchyroll but I couldn't find it there back when I watched it.

Don't Come Home

"
A mother and her young daughter flee to their family's abandoned mansion but soon find themselves haunted by paranormal incidents."

This is a 6 episodes long Thai show that is a mix of a thriller with mystery and sci-fi. It started off really good but it kinda lost me at some point. I'm not a big sci-fi fan so the last few episodes were a little confusing and I lost interest. It's not a bad show tho, it was just not my favorite.

Morimoto's Sushi Master Season 2

I think I mentioned this cooking competition before, back when I watched the first season. Same as with the previous one, I started binge watching as soon as it premiered. It was short tho, it only has 6 episodes but, I love it. It always makes me crave some good Japanese food.

And that will be it for this post guys, there are still many more shows and especially movies I've watched (mostly horror) that are waiting to be shared around here. Maybe I'll share some of them next month. For now, let me know if you've watched one of these or, if you'd like to. Also feel free to send me recommendations!!

See you next time~! 💋
