Hello lovelies!
Earlier this month two of my closest friends invited us to be part of this kind of social service thingy making a visit to a children's hospital and becoming a laugh doctor(?) for a day. (kind of what Patch Adams did) I truly admire Doctors and nurses work, you take care of lives! They are true heroes! And being there for a day made me feel part of that, was something I will never forget. It's amazing what a smile can do for people.
I decided to go, and even though I was super nervous at first, I had to overcome my fear to be around hospitals.
I'm a preschool teacher, so I'm used to being around kids, but it's sad to see all these innocent little people laying on beds with sad, ill faces. It really is a life changing experience.
We started our tour around the hospital rooms in around 4 groups. I was lucky to have one of my friends there with me. All we did was trying to make the kids (and their parents) smile for a while, talk about random stuff, make some jokes and even made some balloon animals! (yeah, I've learn something new! I can make dogs now! Hehe) We stayed at the hospital from like 9am until around 2pm. It was a little tiring but definitely worth it.
I would definitely do it again. Maybe not as often as I should because of my busy schedules~ People who organize this kind of visits have a huge heart! They are really devoted to this service. If someone around my area are interested in being part of this go check their facebook page --> Nariz Roja
