Shows I watched in 2025

I've been focusing on movies so much lately that I forgot to share some of the shows I watched this year. Some of them feel kinda old now cuz I watched them at the beginning of the year. There's a bit of everything really and I'm not including the shows I'm currently rewatching but refuse to finish yet. Plus, I'm sure there are other shows missing because I can't remember them right now~ Oh well.

Most of these shows are from Netflix.

Cassandra

"A family moves into the oldest smart home in Germany, decades after the original owner dies; the AI household helper awakens, and is resolved to never be alone again."

Cassandra is a German sci-fi and suspense show that was released earlier this year. I think it was back in February. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi but a student recommended it and I decided to give it a chance.
It is a very short show with only 6 episodes but, it is really good! I found it a little creepy because of the whole AI thing but it's also a little sad and it keeps you wanting to watch more and more.

Cabinet of Curiosities

"An anthology of sinister stories told by revered horror creators."

"Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities is a horror anthology with eight tales of terror, featuring ominous, chilling, and supernatural elements."

I remember one of my closest friends recommended this show years ago but I guess I was just not in the mood for it when I started watching it cuz, after one episode, I just stopped watching it. This year it was recommended again and I went for it. Yes, the first episode wasn't my favorite but, I started loving it as I watched the other episodes.

It is a horror and dark fantasy show from 2022 with 8 episodes. Each episode shares a different story.
I especially enjoy these type of shows because even if one of the stories doesn't feel too interesting, the next one is completely different so, it doesn't feel boring. I watched it earlier this year but I think it'd be perfect to watch during Oct - Nov.

Goedam

"Goedam is a horror anthology series where shadows and spirits come alive, centered on urban legends, with chilling, scary, and supernatural elements."

I love Asian urban legends, that's why I knew I had to watch this one as soon as it showed in my recommendations. It is a horror, mystery show that tells 8 different short Korean urban legends. The episodes are less than 20 minutes long each so, I watched them in one night. It was very entertaining.

Haunted Hotel

"After inheriting a hotel from her late brother, a single mom moves in with his good-natured ghost and high-maintenance guest who never checks out."

This one is an American adult animated show. It is like a supernatural sitcom that premiered in September this year. I loved, loved, loved this show! I feel like the way for me to enjoy comedy is through cartoons. Plus I loved the supernatural side of the show.

Moving on, we have some documentaries. Yes, I like them when they are true crime or paranormal ones.

American Murder Gabby Petito

"A young couple's cross-country van journey, documented on social media, ends in tragedy when domestic violence shatters their seemingly perfect life; their story sparks a nationwide investigation and raises questions about family loyalty."

This is very short docuseries, it only has 3 episodes that cover Gabby Petito's murder. I was already familiar with this case and was curious to see if this docuserie would give new or extra information but, it didn't. It was still intereseting tho.

Unknown Number: The Middle School Catfish

"A mother harassed her 13-year-old daughter and the daughter's boyfriend through anonymous text messages. Though the victims were in middle school at the time the attacks began, the widely covered true story was the subject of the 2025 Netflix documentary Unknown Number: The High School Catfish."

This one is kinda new and it was really good too. I do love murder cases but, I also enjoy a good catfish case. It's crazy to think a mom could do the things this one did. Defo recommend it.

True Haunting

"Through immersive reenactments and interviews, detailing paranormal encounters from the viewpoint of those who lived them."

This 5 episode show tells two different stories of people who had paranormal encounters. There's something I really like about these type of shows. They kinda take me back to when I used to watch A Haunting on Discovery channel but, with better acting.

And now, something completely different to close this post, two Halloween baking shows. I did watch these in October in between Halloween and horror movies.

Halloween Wars season 14

I watched this one on YouTube so, it might not be the latest season, idk. I remember watching another season years ago and I really liked it. It's basically a baking competition but, Halloween edition. There's something super entertaining about seeing people cook in general and, it's cool to see things I know I'd never be able to make, hehe.

Is it cake? Halloween

Pretty similar to the previous one, is a baking competiton but the things they make is in another level. Like, wow. This one was shorter (4 episodes I think) and it's on Netflix.

And, that's that! Some of the shows I watched this year. I think I'll make one more movies/shows post next month and with that we'll close the recommendations posts. As always, let me know if you have watched some of these or if you would like to.

I'll see you next time~! 💋
