🌸 Flower Sculptures | Town Square Spring 2021 |

It's Spring! And that means: Flowers everywhere!

A few days ago, my mom found out about this "Flower Festival" that was held in Town Square and since we can't really do much on our Spring break, we decided to make a quick stop and check it out.

Town Square is a shopping center that has many open spaces so, I wasn't as paranoid to be there (I only took my mask off for the pic tho). We also went as early as possible, knowing it wouldn't be too crowded and didn't spend much time there.

To our surprise, it wasn't really a "festival", it looked more like nice Spring decoration with artificial flowers. Still the sculptures looked nice and I can't imagine the work behind them.

These are all the sculptures we found on the first floor. We didn't really check the others but, they don't really decorate the other floors much anyway.

My fav has to be the peacock, it was also the biggest one.

HR Giger - Solo con la noche exhibition

Early this month I was invited to go to the HR Giger exhibition in Mexico City. To be honest I had no idea of what to expect since I wasn't familar with him or his work. I only knew he was the guy who designed the famous aliens from the movie, Alien.

Now I know he's a well known Swiss artist with a very unique goth and biomechanical style(?) who won an Oscar for special effects.
His work kinda reminded me of Aeon Flux. hehehe.

I'm not the best when it comes to describing things, especially art. All I can say is that going to the exhibition was an interesting experience and if you are a fan, you should definitely go cuz I feel like there are so many cool things for true fans.

In this expo you'll find paintigs, photos, furniture,  sculptures and of course, Aliens! You can also buy official merch like books, t-shirts and super expensive replicas of his paintings.

The exhibition has been there for a couple of months now and still has a month left (March. 31st).
I'll link the official site in case you guys want more info or feel interested to check it out. https://hrgiger.mx/

See you next time!!

Japanese Arts & Crafts Workshops

Hello my loves!
On November 9th we celebrated my best friend's birthday attending to a festival that her former school, MOA,  was holding. It was such a nice and fun way to celebrate her birthday, learning and sharing something that's very special to her.

As some of you know, I'm not that much of a crafty person. I enjoy it but I'm not really good at it. I've been trying and it's been fun.

This event had different workshops including Japanese caligraphy, cooking class (which I missed because I arrived a little late... They made sushi and mochi!), flower arrangements and pottery.

Making sushi

The price for these workshops was actually very, very affordable, they gave you all the materials you needed and you got to take your finished product home with you.

We started with the Flower arrangement workshop. It was actually a lot of fun! I even got to do origami which I suck at! But I'm proud to say my flowers turned out ok-ish. Hehe.
We enjoyed the process and laughed a lot and well, we took pretty nice flower crafts home with us.
I loved how the teacher talked about the whole process, you could tell she really liked and enjoy what she was doing.

a little blurry...

Then we moved on to the Pottery workshop, and this is something Lu is passionate about so we were looking forward to try.

The teacher explained us the techniques we could use to make a vase or a bowl type of thingy.

I only had time to make one because well... it me! But some of my friends made more than just one piece. It was very relaxing to work with the clay (hoping that's what it's called), mold it and decorate it. Of course that was the "easy" part, the teachers took care of the rest and we're supposed to get a call to go get out final piece. I'm excited to have my own handmade pottery piece! I'll share it with you guys as soon as I get it.

I found it so nice and relaxing~
And well, as far as I know they have other events too that I think can be worth checking out! I am definitely curious to go to more of these workshops and learn new things. Who knows, maybe I'll end up taking classes someday! Hehe.

There's a vlog of this experience here if you wanna check it out. Also click here to learn more about MOA and what they offer.

I'll see you net time!♡
