It's no secret I am a sucker for sakura goodies and I love it when people give me something sakura related. That was the case with this Sakura lip balm from Miniso that one of my best friends gave me earlier this month.
The Sakura Hydrating Lip Mask comes in a transparent pot with a pink lid. The lid has this higlighted sticker with sakura flowers. It is super cute! It contains 8g. of product.
I feel like we haven't had a makeup post in such a long time!
I recently bought a new foundation from Miniso and thought it'd be the perfect time for a little makeup review kind of thing.
Before this one, I was using the Fit Me matte + poreless foundation from Maybelline, which wasn't a bad product, it had a matte, velvety finish and that is pretty but isn't my favorite. Specially during winter, when my skin gets super dry. It was also light coverage and, right now, my skin needs at least a medium coverage. Wearing a mask has been giving me terrible skin!! 😢 I did finish the product tho.
sorry it is all gross but, this is the shade I was using. |
The one I got and recently started using is the Color Me Liquid Foundation in the color LR2. I believe it is the 2nd lightest one, the lightest was way too light for me. They had 4 different shades.
This foundation is medium coverage and has a creamy yet light texture which blends nicely and evenly. It contains gotu kola, leaf oil and fruit extracts and helps to even your skin tone. I'd say it gives you a dewy look, giving your skin a natural, healthy glow.
I'm only wearing moisturizer and sunscreen on the first pic. You can defo see a difference on the 2nd one, where I do have some foundation on. |
It comes with a dispesenser that makes the application clean and easy. Plus, it's easy to control the amount of product you want to use. 1 pump is enough to cover your face.
It doesn't really have a scent to it, so it'll be great if you are not a fan of scented products.
Durability wise it's pretty good. It looks nice throughout the day. I actually apply it with my fingers to warm up the product a little bit and then pat it with my beauty blender after spraying some makeup setting spray. Idk if it makes any difference or not but, it works for me.
All in all I think it's a good product for an affordable price. The only down side to it is that Miniso tends to stop restocking some products after some time.
See you next time~ ♡ |
Since I have different things in here, I'm gonna divide then in groups, as I usually do. Some of them are pressies and others are things I bought.
Remember my pics will never make justice to the clothes I share. I'm just not good at it! With that being said, let's do this!
♡ Clothes
This first one is a pressie from my mom. It is a dark amber(?) dress with small dots that look like small cheetah spots dress from Pull & Bear. Even tho the color is very different from what I usually choose, I really like it. I think it goes well with my hair color. The cut is kinda loose which makes it super comfortable and even tho it has 3/4 sleeves it's still fresh enough to wear on a sunny day. I also think it'll look great in fall with a pair of boots.
Next we have another dress. It is a pale blue with a black hearts print. This one is from a sotre called Vertiche. Sometimes they surprise me with cute designs for very affordable prices. I loved the shade of blue. The fabric isn't exactly thin but it is still fresh. They also had it in black with blue hearts, it looked really cute too.
I got it in a size M but I think it is a tiny bit too loose on me. I still like it tho.
This next dress was more of an impulse purchase but still, no regrets. This super cute pink & white dress is from ZOARA. I'm not familiar with the brand, I got it from an outlet store and it was for sale so, I just had to get it. It gives me Hachi / picnic vibes and it is super comfortable and perfect for spring. I love the detail on the sleeves and the cleavage.
Lastly we have another pressie from mom. It was my children's day gift, hehe. It is a denim short dress with bright, "diamond" like buttons and puffy, pricessy sleeves. This one is from Vertiche too. The fabric is not thick so it's fresh enough to wear during this warmer season. But I also think it'll work in fall with tights and boots.
♡ Accessories
This pair of Sailor Moon socks were a nice surprise while walking around a small street market. We found a stand selling anime stuff and... I just had to. This are high socks and also my second pair of SM socks. I haven't worn them yet, and I don't even know if I will but, they are a cool addition to my SM collection.
Next we have a pair of long heart earrings from Forever21, these were a gift from my mom. They are very simple yet cute. I don't really buy earring that are this long anymore so they are a nice addition to the ones I have. Plus, earrings are my favorite accessories.
♡ Skin Care
Sunscreen has been an essential of mine for some time now, not only during Summer time. i know there is a big variety of brands and types of sunscreen right now but the one I always go for the Mary Kay Suncare suncreen with SPF 50.
I've been using it for a couple of years. I like it because even tho it is thick at the beginning, it doesn't feel like that on the skin and I can even apply my makeup on top of it. Something I also like is that it is affordable and doesn't have that "Summer vacaction" scent to it.
♡ Others
I found this beautiful Sakura & Mount Fuji blanket right when the cold weather ended... It is from Miniso and I just love it, it is very soft and you know I love sakura flowers. They had other designs too, I was tempted to get another one that had sakura flowers and little cats. Maybe next time.
And lastly, I recently bought some metal straws. They were mainly for my mom but they came in a package of 4 so, I kept two to myself. I really liked the colors and the fact that they come with a small brush to wash them. They also had a larger version. This are pretty handy, especially to carry around in your bag when you eat out and need one.
And, that is it! Some of the things I've been collecting lately.
Do you like collective hauls like this? Or would you like to see hauls only dedicated to the same type of items? Let me know!!
Skincare has been an important part of my routine for a couple of years now cuz I do believe that going back to "basics" can make, even the cheapest makeup, look great.
It is true that what you eat and drink can have an influence on how your skin looks and to be honest, I don't worry too much about that, and I should. But, it is amazing what drinking a lot of water can do for you. And I think that would be my first tip for a healthy looking skin, start from the inside to look great on the outside. (and here is when I should start taking my own advice...)
I'll start with my skin type: I have combination skin but, it is also very, very sensitive. So I struggle with a bit of everything; I have a bit of an oily T-zone but my cheeks tend to get dry especially during Winter. As for the sensitive part, I can't experiment with many products when it comes to cleansing because some of them give me rashes and reactions after the first or second use, no matter how good the brand is.
So, today I am going to share with you some of the products I use to take care of my skin. Keep in mind that what works for me may not work for everyone.
I linked some of the products to older posts dedicated to them, in case you want more info.
One of the main requests for this post was to talk about skincare for oily skin, which is caused by the excess sebum production, this colgs pores and can lead to acne. So I think good and constant cleansing is key here. Salicylic acid is known to be good to help with oily skin.
I usually go super basic with my morning cleansing cuz I don't have much time but, I always make sure to wash, apply moisturizer and sunscreen before I do my makeup. It also helps me to wake up. I'm currently using the Miniso Watermelon Bouncy Hydra Facial Cleansing Gel to wash my face in the morning and at night. It removes excess grease, dirt and impurities, is super gentle and it smells delicious. Other cleansing foams I love are the Missha Creamy Latte Cleansing Foam. They have 3 different "flavors". The Green Tea one is for oily skin. Plus they smell delicious and are super creamy. And lastly, a product I got to try a few months ago: The Burt's Bees Soapbark & camomille deep cleansing cream. As it says, it is very creamy and soothing. This is a great choice if you're looking for something with natural ingredients.
I've been using this sunscreen from Mary Kay for a couple of years now. |
One product that I liked to use years ago was an astringent from Bioré that contained salicylic acid. I used to apply it at night, using a cotton pad after cleansing. Since it also contains alcohol it kinda soaks the oil from the skin and you wake up with a fresh, non-oily skin. I don't remember why I stopped using it and I'm not sure if it's still out there.
Another product I really, really like is the Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub (What. A. Long. Name.). I love to use a good facial scrub twice a week and this one if defo one of my favorites. Not only because it is super cheap but, it also does the job. It is gentle to my sensitive skin but at the same time you can feel the beads scrubbing all the dirt on your skin leaving it fresh and clean after using. It has a cooling effect that I love. It contains eucalyptus extract and Witch Hazel which is also a good ingredient to cleanse the oil. I love face scrubs in general, but this one is great for oily skin.
I double cleanse at night. Sometimes, when I'm not extra lazy. The first step would be to remove my makeup using Micellar Water or the MINISO Sakura Water Bright Cleansing Balm. I find Micellar water to be faster to use and effective when it comes to removing my makeup but the cleansing balm is pretty good too. After having a makeup free face, I move on to the washing to make sure there is no dirt left.
This is the one I'm currently using |
After that comes the moisture part. Before applying a hydrating cream, I've been using a new essence lately. It is the MINISO Energy of Fruit 3 in 1 Essence (citrus) and it's been working well for me so far. I wake up to a moisturized and healthy looking skin.
A moisturizer that I would defo recommend is the Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel Cream. It has to be hands down one of my favs. I like to use it as both, day and night cream.
But when in Winter, when my skin gets super dry, I try to use something thicker at night. Last year my aunt introduced me to this cream called Tressura, and it is one of those super old creams that are very cheap but work wonders. It contains glycerine and it works great as a night mask and super hydrating body cream.
And well, I think I've said this before but using facemasks constantly also helps a lot. There is a huge variety now, and not only for the face. You can choose according to your needs and some of them are also really cute and fun to use.
I don't know if I'm missing some things, I probably am but I don't want to make this a super , duper long(er) post. So, let me now if there is something else I should mention when it comes to skincare and I'll be glad to share it in another post.
