🔖 Recent Reads: Full Metal Panic! | Collector's Edition 3 |

It took me a while to finish this one since I started reading it at the end of January. A part of me refused to finish it, and sometimes I didn't have the time to dedicate to reading it. But I can tell you, I enjoyed every part of it. This baby, the Full Metal Panic! Collector's Edition 3 was a pressie I received last Christmas. I love Full Metal Panic! so, so much! It is one of my favorite anime ever. And I feel it's super underrated and doesn't get as much love as it deserves.

I'll give you a quick summary in case you're not familiar with the story:

"The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of the covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a hot-headed Japanese high school girl born with strange abilities that attracts the attention of various antagonistic groups."

The anime was released back in 2002 and has 4 seasons so far: Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu?, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid and Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory. I am obsessed with them and the main characters but, I have never read the manga or the light novels, especially because it's very difficult to find FMP! merch where I live. (of course you can get some online)

This book has a beautiful hardcover book with an illustration of an Arm Slave and the title in silver. Which makes a perfect contrast against the dark blue background. It's simple, yet cool. This novel by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shikidouji covers volumes 7 - 9 of the light novels and the last animated season, which is the only season I haven't rewatched a millions times. But, even tho I don't remembered every single detail, I did remember some of the things that happened as I read.

I'll include the back cover for you to see what each volume is about instead of trying to write a not-so-good summary, hehe.

Since it's not a manga, it only comes with a few illustrations. Some color illustrations at the beginning and other black and white ones along the chapters. I really, really love the illustrations, not only here but also the ones from the anime.

The book opens with some of the color illlustrations, some of them are the light novel covers.

All I can say is, I am obsessed.  My favorite part was seeing how close Sousuke and Kaname were at this point and they way the gave each other the courage they needed to continue with just a short conversation. I had all types of feelings as I was reading this, I felt sad for Sousuke and everything that was happening to him and around him, he just never gives up and I love that about him. There's a lot of action and of course, I got all emotional towards the end. Yup, I cried. And I remember feeling the same way when I saw that scene in the anime years ago. I also had to read lots of militray/guns related stuff, haha. It was fun.

This novel ends exactly where Invisible Victory ended, cliffhanger~ And since I don't know when they'll give us another anime season, I'll have to buy the next book to know what happens next. I know I want to buy the previous ones too. They're too beautiful not to have them all.

I think this is one of my most all over the place book posts, I defo recommend watching this show or reading the manga/novels. Some seasons are darker than others and it has some comedy too. I know I will be re-watching Invisible Victory now that I had finished reading this and I have all the info fresh.

🔖 Recent Reads: BLEACH Can't Fear Your Own World I

I started reading this book back in December but, I can say I've finished my first book this year! I received this BLEACH Can't Fear Your Own World I as a pressie last year but it took me a while to start reading it cuz I was reading Dracula at that moment and, it took me a while to finish that one.

By now we all know Bleach is one of my favorite anime of all time and that it has a very special place in my heart, hehe. What I'm not sure people know is that Shuhei is one of my (many) crushes from the anime. I love him! He's a lieutenant, has tattoos, he's badass and hot but, he's the sweetest at the same time. So, I really, really wanted to get this book and see him in action a little more.

This novel by Tite Kubo & Ryohgo Narita was released in August, 2017 in Japan and, it is the first part of a series of 3 novels. So yeah, now I need the other 2 to know what will happen next!

Bleach illustrations are always the coolest. Starting with the cover, which is just 🔥. It doesn't have many illustrations but, the ones it has are pretty good too. It also comes with a small 2 side poster, one side has the cover picture and the other has Shuhei and his two hobbies, the guitar and motorcycles.

The story develops right after the Thousand Year Blood War is over, I haven't read the manga, but I caught up with the anime and I know all the characters so yeah, I got a few spoilers but, it was easy to know what was going on.

It shows more about the four Noble Houses, the Soul King, Arrancar and Fullbringers (these last guys are defo not my favs) and features a new villain: Tokinada Tsunayashiro.

"The Quincy Thousand Year Blood War is over, but the embers of turmoil still smolder in Soul Society. Tokinada Tsunayashiro, elevated to head of his clan after a slew of assassinations take out every other claimant to the title, has a grand plan to create a new Soul King. His dark ambitions soon sow the seeds of a new total war across the realms, but all is not lost. There is one unlikely Shinigami who holds the key to defusing the conflict — Shūhei Hisagi, lieutenant of the Ninth Division and reporter for the Seireitei Communication!"

Reading this one was fun, I could picture all the characters and their conversations. Seeing more from Shuhei, the way he feels after losing his former Captain and seeing him working for the Sereitei Bulletin is just great! I love it when I get to learn more about my favorite characters. Especially those who aren't exactly main characters. 

This one didn't have too much action tho, it's just the introduction to what's coming, which I'm sure will be exciting. It left me on a cliffhanger!

I liked how they showed you some of the characters that are part of this story.

Right now, there's another anime book I'm reading but I'm sure I'll be getting part 2 of this novel soon cuz, now I need to finish the story. Plus, it feels like a good way to wait for the next animated Bleach Arc.

Naruto Shippuden | Playmobil Sakura |

Anime posts are back with this new addition to my Naruto goodies. Back in December my sister and I went to ToysRUs just to look around and ended up buying some Naruto Shippuden Playmobil. 

I got Sakura and she got Ino and Shikamaru (who's not in the pic~)

Even tho Sakura is one of my favorite characters, I don't have many Sakura things so, it felt fair to get this one. (Also because they didn't have Sasuke 🤭).

Let's talk about the box a little because, even tho it's a very normal looking one, I think it has a cool Ninja vibe to it.

This is not my favorite look on her but I have to admit she's super cute! This one is the Sakura Fourth Great Ninja War, she comes with 7 separate, small pieces including her headband and other accessories, a standing support plate thingy and 2 shuriken. (Sadly I lost one almost s soon as I opened her).

I didn't want to take the other accessories off her for the pic, hehe.

This is my first Playmobil so, this might be a common thing but, the details on her clothes, hair and accessories are really good! I'm in love with the mini shuriken too!

She also came with a sheet of the other characters they have in this Shippuden collection(?). There are many! I've seen the ramen shop and it's soooo cute! But I think if I get others, I'll get Sasuke and maybe Kakashi. I love him so much too.

And, I think this will be it for this one, I really hope I can share more anime posts this year, it's so much fun for me.

Bleach | Rangiku Matsumoto Funko Pop!

Part of the birthday pressies I received this year was this Rangiku Matsumoto Funko Pop! my friend sent me. I know everyone has an opinion when it comes to Funkos, they love them or hate them. I honestly like them, I wouldn't collect all of them but, I like having a couple. Especially when it comes to characters I love as much as I love Rangiku. We share a past, hehe. IYKYK.

I love it because last year he also sent me something Matsumoto & Hitsugaya related. I'm slowly bulding a Bleach collection thanks to him, haha. Taichou knows~ ♡

I won't mention the presentation that much because we are already familiar with how the boxes look.

Here are the other characters that came out when Rangiku was released. I need Gin now so they can be together!!

She is perfect! I love all the details on her despite her size. Her necklace, Haineko and her lieutenant badge.

I love her characteristic mole and the fact that she has eyelashes, they make her prettier and a little flirty in a way.

This might be a very short post but, I'm way too happy to have her and I wanted to share. I'd defo get a Hitsugaya too, Ran wants her boys with her!

Now that I'm sharing her, I'm gonna include a pic of a Rangiku plush I got last year cuz I don't think I ever showed her around here. She was pre-owned and arrived in a very bad condition. But now she's happily living here along with my other few Bleach goodies.

☾ Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie

Sailor Moon Cosmos was finally released outside Japan! I waited for over a year to watch it since it came out back in June 2023 and all we could see were movie trailers. I was especially excited because it was supposed to cover the Sailor Moon Sailor Stars season, which is one of my all time favorites.

You all know I've been a Sailor Moon fan for pretty much all my life so, it was defo a must watch for me. 

So yeah, I watched the 2 part movies on the release date (Aug. 22nd) and I thought I should come here to share my thoughts on the movies as someone who loves this story and its characters, just as I did with the Sailor Moon Eternal Movie. Not much has changed since the SM Eternal movie tho, I still haven't finished watching Sailor Moon Crystal and, haven't read the manga. From what I know, these movies are also the last chapter of SM Crystal and, are more loyal to the manga. Still, it's easy to understand if you watched the 90's anime but, you do have to watch SM Eternal first cuz it is a continuation in a way.

This won't be a movie review and it might be a little over the place, hehe. Hope not to spoil anything.

I really suck at writing synopsis so I'll just include the one from the Netflix website to give you a general idea:

"Sailor Moon must stand up and fight once again when a new enemy called Shadow Galactica, an organization bent on destroying everything and ruling the universe, begins eliminating her friends one by one. Her task requires her to persevere when solitude threatens to overwhelm her. Will she be able to protect those she loves? What awaits her beyond the battle? Sailor Moon fights on despite the pressure of her self-imposed mission as the final chapter of the beautiful and strong Sailor Guardians begins."—Netflix

I watched the spanish dub because they had some of the original voice actors back in this movie and, you know, the nostalgia. It was weird to get used to some of the new voices they had tho, they changed some of my favorites!! But I want to watch the original Japanese version too. It was funny to hear them using the "chan" and "san" along with the spanish dialogs again. Plus, they used too much spanglish in my opinion in all the attacks and transformations. (Says someone who uses spanglish in her daily life, hehe). The character design and animation is pretty good and beautiful, I'd say I liked it more than the one of the previous movies. 

These movies are a lot darker and dramatic, we don't get to see many funny moments in the slice of life scenes. But as always it has a strong "power of love and frienship" message that I always like about the show. 

There were so many changes that caught my attention cuz I wasn't expecting them. But hey, this is me only comparing it to the 90's anime.

First was, Usagi's engagement ring, it was pretty but kinda different from the original design I always loved.

For some reason, Haruka & Michiru went to the same school as the other Senshi this time, nothing wrong with that but I liked their old uniform so much!

One thing I didn't really like was how much the relationship between the Sailor Senshi and the Star Lights changed in these movies. Even how it developed and stuff. I get it's a movie and things are supposed to go faster but, still. They even changed the Three Lights personalities a lot, I felt something was missing! Seiya's relationship with Usagi wasn't the same, it wasn't fun and super cute as it was in the anime. 

Sadly, I didn't see these two as much. I love them SO MUCH!

Oh well~ I did have a fangirl moment when I heard the new version of "Nagareboshi He".

But in general, I don't think they were super relevant in the story and they didn't give them an ending(?), they just disappeared! Princess Kakyuu seemed a little more relevant at the beginning but she only had a senshi transformation and got killed almost right away, she wasn't of much help really.

When I was younger, I always thought Princess Kakyuu would be way more powerful than she actually is~

I feel like Chibi Chibi had a more important role now, and she even speaks this time and we can see her transformations to Sailor Cosmos.

Chibiusa had her moment and it was kinda cool to see her with her Senshi (if you saw SM Eternal you'll know what I'm talking about) but, they were not that skilled either.

I wonder if there could be a continuation featuring the new generation of Senshi...

We see a lot of different enemies, including the Sailor Senshi and Mamo-chan at some point. You know, they all "die" and become evil, and only Sailor Moon can end this fight. I don't usually like the villians in this anime but I do have to admit, Sailor Galaxia is super beautiful when she's not wearing her typical outfit.

As usual, dear Mamo-chan is kinda useless, not even his evil form fights! He only stands there giving orders and dies easily. Sad, but true.

After the big fight on the second movie we see everyone going back to life and to their normal lives, then we have the big moment, Usagi and Mamo-chan's wedding, that was one of my favorite things when I was a young girl. I'm not sure about this but, it looks like Usagi is pregnant in the end? I'm not sure, that's how I saw it.

All in all, and to finish this random and unplanned post; I did enjoy these movies, they were just not my favorites. I didn't have expectations but they changed so many things I loved from the Sailor Stars season and didn't give closure to some things and characters. Still, I think it's worth watching if you're a Sailor Moon fan. My inner girl is always happy whenever she sees something new that is Sailor Moon related.

Heavenly | Hitsugaya & Matsumoto Fanbook | 💙

Last month I received a late birthday surprise from my former Twitter Taichou (from our Bleach role play days), who's also my friend. The gift took a while to arrive cuz he bought it from a Japanese website and remained a mystery until it finally arrived. All I knew was that, in his words, it was perfect and, it really was. 

As some of you know, I am a huge Bleach fan and I love, love, love Hitsugaya & Matsumoto. I love them as a team, their relationship and yeah, even them together (I know, I know~🤭). And, in a way, we will always be them, hehe.💙

Knowing this, he chose a Hitsugaga & Matsumoto fanfic. Which has to be the cutest thing ever! I used to love reading fanfics online but you never see them in stores where I live, so I never thought I'd own one. This one is called Heavenly by Baby-G & Area 666. The manga comes with many different cute and funny HitsuMatsu moments, completely in Japanese! (I think he overestimated my Japanese skills a tiny little bitsy bit) That's why it's taking me a while to read and understand it (I'm getting a little help from the internet too tho) 

I've been loving every part of it! The illustrations are slightly different between them because of the artists but all of them are pretty good. Love the way they draw angry Taichou! It's always the funniest. Of course, the fanbook also features other characters too, such as: Ichigo, Orihime, Rukia and Renji.

I've been strongly fangirling over these two since I received the fanfic, it's not a new thing but, I'm obsessed and that's why I wanted to share it with y'all while I impatiently wait for the new Bleach arc. I also wanted to include  this Hitsugaya acrylic keychain that came with the manga cuz Taichou is looking as cool as always~!
