Super Easy Golden Milk Recipe

Since December, I've been trying some drink recipes my mom has been sending me and I thought it'd be a good idea to share some of them around here. The ones I've liked anyway.

Winter has been especially cold lately and I believe there's nothing cozier than a hot drink with a good book or movie during cold winter days so, today I'm going to share a super duper easy golden milk recipe.

I had golden milk like twice in my life before making it at home, last time was with tapioca and, it was defo an iteresting experience cuz I had never had hot bubble tea before, I always drink it cold.
One of my friends told me about the benefits of tumeric before and how it was good for your body but I wanted to do some research and include some info here because, I forgot what those benefits were, hehe.

Apparently, it helps relieve intestinal inflammation and promotes good digestion, it has antibacterial and antiviral properties, can soothe a sore throat, reduce joints and muscles inflammation. It accelerates metabolism, has antioxidant properties, improves blood circulation and relieves skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, rosacea, and eczema. Plus, it's delish! To me, it tastes like Autumn.

It doesn't take more than 10 minutes and ingredients are super easy to find. I was surprised to notice I already had everything when I decided to make it at home.

The first time I made it, I enjoyed it while reading some FMP! on a very cold afternoon. Since it wasn't too sweet, I had it with some fritters made by my mom. It was the perfect cozy moment, hehe.

You'll need (for 1 cup):

☆ 1 cup of milk (any kind of milk you like)
☆ 1/2 tbsp. of tumeric powder
☆ 1 pinch of black pepper
☆ 1/2 tbsp. of ground cinnamon
☆ 1/4 tbsp. of powdered ginger (optional)
☆ 1 tsp. of honey or sweetner of choice

First, heat the milk over medium heat without boiling. then add the tumeric, black pepper, cinnamon and ginger. Mix well.

Cook over low heat for over 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat, add honey, mix again and serve hot.

I'd suggest trying it with the suggested ingredient quantities first and see how you like it. Cuz I think the taste can be a little spicy for some people. In my case, I like to add some pumpkin spice and more honey too. I like most of my drinks to be sweet.

Guess that's the fun part of recipes, sometimes you can add more or less of something, depending on what you like. I'm sure it'd taste really good cold too.

And, that'll be it for now. Let me know if you ever try making this drink and, if you like it!

I'll see you next time~!💋
