πŸ’– June Favorites 2020 | Quarantine edition |

Hi there!

Long time no favorites! With this whole lock down thing I didn't have much to share as favorites for a couple of months because I barely wear makeup these days and my skincare hasn't really changed, I don't go out or try many new things.
But, this month there are a couple of things I do want to share with you guys.

Ready? Here we go!

πŸ’— Yummies

Eating and drinking are things that I can't stop doing since the quarantine started. And as you know, my coffee is one of the things I enjoy the most, that's why we have these 2 Coffee Mate coffee creams here.

The first one is the Pumpkin Spice Coffee Mate. I am pumpkin spice obsessed and I've been dying to try this particular one for a while now but sadly, I can't find it where I live. I was so happy when I finally got the chance to try it. It was defo worth it!

The second one is supposed to be a limited edition choco-latte cream. I first tried it last year. I believe it was around November/December. Not sure. Then I stopped seeing it and it was recently back on stores. I love everything chocolte and this one is worth trying!

πŸ’— TV

Crashlanding on you
. I mentioned this kdrama before but now that I'm done with it, I can say I loved it. It really reminds me of a Korean version of FMP. It gave me the feels. Especially because I do believe that people who are meant to be together will find the way to do it, no matter what. It's a short drama with only 16 episodes and the story moves on pretty fast. I highly recommend it. The OST is also really good.

This man is everything! #NewCrush

πŸ’— Beauty

I have a post dedicated to the Essential Burt's Bees Kit and I think the products are defo worth trying but today I want to focus on the one I liked the most. That is the Beewax Lipbalm with Vitamin C and Peppermint. Afer trying it, it became a must have for me and my forever chapped lips. I'm curious to try the tinted ones now. Hehe.

πŸ’— Accessories

At first I didn't think about sharing them but, they are my most worn "accessory" atm. Me being me, I wanted to find some cute masks with nice colors and designs. I've been biuying my maks at JOI, which is a Canadian dollar store. Each package comes with 2 for a very good price. These masks are made of cotton and have 2 layers(?) of fabric. They are more comfortable than others I've tried and it's easy to wash them as soon as I get home, they dry super fast too.
They have a large variety of colors and designs. Some friends and family are using them now too.

πŸ’— Music

I don't listen to many groups in Spanish but I've been following these guys since they started their career when we were all teenagers. Kudai's new album Laberinto has been on replay since it was released back in March. This album has 11 tracks and all of them are really good.

And there you have it, my quarantine favorites, haha. I don't know when I'll do another favorites post but, I do have some things to share next month. Also, let me know if there's something you'd like me to try, share or blog about.

Until next time~ ♡

✏ Teacher chit chat #6: Teaching online

Being totally honest with you guys, I didn't think this situation could last this long but, I've been working from home for 3 months now and I'm not gonna lie, it's being hard.

As much as I enjoy doing what I do, teaching through online platforms has been a challenging experience, first of all, because it is not for everyone. And I don't mean people can't learn online but not everyone has access to online resourses and that is something we didn't take in consideration when we had to plan a new way to teach our students. It is true this whole situation brought out our most creative side, trying to find ways for our students to learn without becoming something flat and boring but all that effort couldn't reach all our the students for many different and personal situations.

Still, we are doing our best.

I don't think of myself as a super creative person, especially when I'm out of my comfort zone. When this thing started I strongly refused to teach stuff through videos and I hated the idea of doing online classes because I thought it'd be awkward, and yeah, it was awkward at the beginning but I ended up enjoying it because it was the only way to keep in touch with my students. Plus, there are so many online tools and resourses you can use to teach now, it's amazing! In the end I've learned a lot and also stepped out of my comfy zone.

It's funny how some people think I have more free time now that I work from home because, it is a lot more work! Especially paperwork. It's not like we didn't plan our lessons before but the amount of work increased. My coworkers agree with me.

The goverment took the decision to end the school year on June 05th. Not every school ended classes that day but our school decided to do it. It was super sudden and we had to rush everything. Sadly, we didn't have a closure ceremony or graduation celebrations. It was sad to say goodbye through a computer, knowing it could be the last time we meet some of our students. We shared happy memories and a couple of tears on our last day~ It couldn't be helped. I hope I get to see my graduates again to give them a big hug.

This pandemic doesn't seem to be getting any better here where I live, it's worrisome to see how some people don't take it seriously.
Working from home could go on for months and months and even tho my adult students seem to be coping with it just fine, I don't think it'll be the same case for children.

It's uncertain what will happen, I'm really keeping my fingers crossed, hoping we will be able to go back when it's planned.
Of course it won't be the same, and of course we will have to continue finding new ways to work but, I've realized that is just part of life, we need to adapt to whatever comes our way~

🐝 Essential Brurt's Bees Kit

I've heard and read so many great things about this brand, and I've been looking to try their products for a while. Especially their lip blam! But for whatever reason I never got the chance until now that I recieved this kit as a gift from my bestie, Lu.

This kit comes with 5 of the brand's essentials: Body lotion, hand salve, cleansing cream, foot cream and a lip balm. They all smell so natural!

So, I've been trying this products for a couple of weeks now and these are my impressions so far:

🐝 Body lotion with milk & honey: This lotion is for normal to dry skin, it's super light weight and the skin absorbs it incredibly fast. I love how soft my skin feels after using it, especially my legs that have been super dry and itchy lately. The only thing I don't like is the smell... I can somewhat smell the honey but to me, it mostly smells like tamarind (which might not even be part of the ingredients~). But being honest, it's not something I can't stand and, it does the job keeping the skin soft and hydrated for a long time.

🐝 Hand salve: This salve has a strong herbal scent and it is kinda oily but not thick. It absrobs immediately, leaving your hands feeling super soft. I think this one could be useful for dry elbows too! Plus, I really liked the little tin.

🐝 Soapbark & camomille deep cleansing cream: It is my first time trying a cleansing cream and I loved the super creamy and soft texture this one has. For some reason I was expecting it to create some kind of foam at some point but, it never did. It's literally as if you were applying cream. I like how it gives this minty fresh feeling to the skin as you massage it, leaving it super fresh after rinsing. A litte goes a long way with this one.
As for the scent, you can defo smell the camomille along with some herbs, I think.
What I like the most is that it didn't irritate my skin or gave it any weird reaction.

🐝 Coconut foot cream: I usually am someone who tends to neglect her feet, I'm not gonna lie. But this foot cream could change that since I liked it a lot. More than a cream, I see it as a vaseline type of balm thingy because it is slighty oily. It smells like coconut with a hint of mint. Once you apply it on your feet, you immediately see a differente and even tho it is oil based, it kinda fades once the product is absorbed into the skin.

🐝 Beewax lip balm with vitamin C and peppermint: This one is defo one of my favorites out of this kit because I aways, always have dry and chapped lips. This product leaves a thick layer on the lips that keeps them hydrated without feeling like you have something on them. You can easily apply lipstick on top of it (since this one is clear) and it has a cooling effect beacause of the peppermint that I just love. It also smells very minty.

I think this kit makes a perfect gift and it's also a good way to try their products before buying the full size ones. I think I'm defo going to repurchase some of these, once I run out of them.

Let me know if you've tried some of the Burt's Bees proucts!

πŸŽ€ Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Nude Palette

Part of the b-day pressies I recieved from my friend Ceci (aka Jun-chan!) was this super duper cute palette from Physicians Formula, it is the Shimmer Strips Nude Palette.

I consider Physcians Formula to be a high end drusgtore makeup and skincare brand with really good quality and pretty pakaging. I've tried a few makeup products before and I do recommend them.

Ceci said that once she saw this palette, she thought it'd be perfect for me, even the packaging. And she was right. I love everything about it.

Let's check it out...

πŸŽ€ Packaging

Like I said, it is too pretty! I love the black lace on top of the satin pale pink fabric. The nude ribbon details add that extra something to it without looking like "too much."
The whole concept is on the same color scheme and has a super girly vibe to it.

It has a magnetic seal and the size is travel friendly. It also comes with a sponge applicator in a very interesting shape, haha. It doesn't come with a mirror.

πŸŽ€ Eyeshadows

This palette comes with 12 shimmers, from very light shades, to black. So it's perfect for day and night makeup looks.
What I really like about it is that there is no one color I wouldn't use, which doesn't happen often. There's usually at least one color I wouldn't use in most palettes.

Pigmentation wise I think they are great and the shimmers are really well... shimmery! haha, which is something I look for when it comes to shimmers. Especially for the lower lid.

Here come the swatches! as you can see, they are all very, very pigmented.

Even the black shade is very black for a shimmer eyeshadow.

I don't know if it's a Physicians Formula thing but this palette is slightly scented. It has a herbal subtle scent. I remember my PF Happy Booster blush had a floral scent that eventually went away.

I've tried some of the colors already and they are easy to blend and have good durability.

And now that I've been talking about Ceci, she has a beauty IG account that you should totally visit if you like makeup and beauty. She reviews high end and drugstore brands as well as dupes and shares fun tips.
Go give Jun-chan some love! https://www.instagram.com/cecisaysyes/

See you next time~ ♡

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Bronzer

Here comes another product from the PF Shimmer Strips collection, this one is a bronzer that can be also used as a blush and eye shadow.

This light bronzer is called "Vegas Strip" and it comes with 5 diiferent shades, from a shimmer light, sand-ish gold (I suck at trying to describe colors) to a copper color.
The packaging is super clean and simple, yet pretty. And it doesn't come with a brush or mirror.

The colors are all shimmers and very easy to blend together or separately. I used the darker shades as a blush and the lighter ones as highlighter.
Pigmentation wise, they are pretty good, you don't need to use a lot of product to make it pop on the skin.

not the best swatches... hehe

This product doesn't have ay smell to it like the others I've tried from this brand.
The durability is also pretty good. The color doesn't fade as the day goes by.

I've only used it as a highlighter / blush but, I'm sure it'd look pretty as eye shadows too, especially because it has the shades I usually go for.

I think it gives a really nice golden glow to the skin, making it look
slightly tanned.

Mmm... macarons!!

I recieved these cuties last week, as a birthday gift from my boss and her son. You all kow how much I love sweets so, I couldn't resist to share them. Hehe.

They are from "AzulCocoa" which is a chocolate shop that also sells cookies and other desserts as well as macarons and gift sets. It is my first time trying their stuff tho.

My macarons came in 3 different flavors: Blueberry, chocolate and lemon. I think. Thing is, even tho they were good, I couldn't notice a big difference between them.

If you want to check their stuff, I'll link it here. Warning! Your mouth is going to water from all the good looking sweets they have.
