๐Ÿ’‹ Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink | Review & Swatches |

You might recognize these babies from my latest drugstore haul, they are the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink.

This lippies are described as: "Intensely perfect, perfectly intense. Ink your lips in up to 16 HR saturated liquid matte."

It's usually hard for me to use matte liquid lippies because they always accentuate my lip lines and how chapped they are but what I noticed with these ones is that it doesn't happen. Even tho they have a matte finish, they also have a thick creamy formula that makes my lips look smooth. It is a bit sticky at the beginning, but that fades once the product dries on the lips.

They are very pigmented, there's no need to apply many layers to get the desired color. I also find the application to be easier than other liquid lipsticks. It might be because of the shape of the applicator.

It is true when they say it lasts for 16 hours, even if you eat and drink. The only part that kinda wears off a little as you eat is the inner part of the lips, but you don't need to retouch every couple of hours. Also, they are transfer proof once they set on the lips.
I'd defo go for one of these if I know I'll be busy all day with no time to worry about my makeup. Perfect for work and events.

They do have a sweet scent, kinda like vanilla or... cookies! Haha. It's not something that bothers me but, gotta keep that in mind if you don't like scented products.

Something I noticed is that the formula looks ugly if you apply lipbalm before the product, it kinda breaks and becomes rubbery. I usually do this with other lipsticks but it doesn't work well with these particular ones.

After all that, let's check the 2 shades I got:

The first one is #10 "Dreamer", which is a really pretty cold pink. I love how it looks on the package and I really like the color. I just don't know if I like how it looks on my lips. It's paler than what I usually wear.

The other is #125 "Inspirer", this is a soft, medium pink. Kinda like a... strawberry pink! I love everything about this color. I think it's perfect for an everyday look.

I only bought those two because I wanted to try them first. I think they are worth it tho. And they have a really nice variety of colors. I would defo get more and maybe try other shades rather than just pink.

Let your skin glow! Revlon Photoready Rose Glow Hydrating Primer

I've been using this product for a while now and after repurchasing it, I realized that I never actually shared it here, which is weird because I like it a lot.

The Revlon Photoready Rose Glow Hydrating Primer "001 Rose Quartz" has been one of my favorite primers for a little over a year now because of the beautiful glow it gives to my skin and makeup.

Product description:
"Super-lightweight this one boost skin radiance for a lit-up finish.
Water-based and infused with nourishing oil-beads to leave skin hydrated for 24 hours."

It is true its water-based formua is super lightweight and it absorbs into the skin pretty quick. The oil-beads melt as you apply the product, leaving a slightly sticky feeling that fades away after a couple of minutes.

Even tho it looks really pink when you first see it, it only leaves a nice golden glow once it's applied on the skin, it doesn't change or affect the color of your base makeup. Since it's a primer, you have to apply it before your base and something that I've noticed, even if it's not mentioned in the product description, is that it minimizes my pores too.

It has a very soft rose scent that I have to say, it is not my favorite but, it goes away after a while.
I have some matte foundations and I like to use this product with them because I usually like to go for a dewy, glowy skin look. It's also great to use when your skin is not looking its best and you want a little pick-me-up, even without makeup. I get many compliments on my skin whenever I use this product.

I want to mention that the glow it gives you it's not like an oily shine kind of thing. I have combination skin but I do think this product can work for skin types too. It is very gentle and the effect it gives is soft and it kinda highlights the right spots on your skin, making it look healthy and radiant. And if you want, you can only apply it on certain spots as a highlighter.

Left: Face without the primer.
Right: Face after applying the primer.

This is how my makeup looks after using the primer.
I didn't use any highlighter.

It is very long lasting! I'm not sure about 24hrs but the effect on my skin lasts throughout the day, and that is something I appreciate.

The applicaton is really clean and easy, since it comes with a dropper and, you don't need to use too much product to get a nice finish. A little goes a long way. I think one bottle lasted me a whole year.

I also gave one to my aunt when I first bought it and she loved it too! Now we repurchase it everytime we run out of it because, it really is a must.

Mom's Favorites 2020 | Beauty & Makeup |

Today is my mom's birthday so I thought it'd be the perfect time to share this post we had in mind for a couple of months now. We have many things in common, she's the one to blame for my big love for coffee but, we like different things when it comes to makeup.
Here you'll find some of her favorite beauty and makeup products, some of them are different from what I usually share so, I hope you enjoy!

Let's get to it!

There are so many products that are my favorites and I'm going to share them with you today.
Let's start with...

♥ Beauty

Even tho I can go for a fucsia lipstick every now and then, red is my favorite when it comes to lipsticks.

I love lipsticks from Essence and Makeup Revolution, brands I discovered in Spain in my favorite perfumery, Druni.

Essence Matt Matt Matt #06 "Kiss me if you can"
Essence Ultra Last Instant colour #11 "Cherry Sweet"
This one from Sephora is one of my favorite red lipsticks. It is creamy and it is very long lasting. This shade is the "It" shade of red for me and it is very affordable.

Sephora #Lipstories "A little magic"
And these are from Miniso, they are Korean and they last throughout the whole day. They are creamy and very hydrating.

Miniso Korean Style Creamy Lipsticks
01 "Rosy Red" and 03 "Mermaid Pink"

Bourjois is a French brand I also discovered in Spain. Their pressed powder and foundation are amazing!

#53 "Golden Beige"

"123 perfect" with SPF10 and 24h hydration

I really like MAC blushes. One was a gift from my daughter and I bought the other one.

Left: Margin (which broke)
Right: Format
We also have this one from Physicians Fromula which is a lot softer and delicate.

Physicians Fromula Multi Colored Light Bronzer

Another brand I really like is Astor. It is a German brand by Heidi Klum, their lipsticks and blushes are super!

Nails

Essence Nail polishes are wonderful, and their colors are always in season.

Skincare

I don't buy facemasks but my daughter has given me some from Tonyoly and they are spectacular! I love it when she gives them to me.

Korean Sheet masks from TonyMoly and Celavi

Moving on to creams, I love these ones that my daughter brought from Canada. I hate to have dry hands. These creams not only help me to have soft, hydrated hands for a long time, but they also have a nice scent that lasts for a long time.

Lastly we have, lipbalm. This is the one I'm currently using, it was a gift from Michee.
Love it!

Perfume

I love perfumes! Especially herbal and citrus fragrances with a hint of florals. No sweet scents.
These two have a foral scent, different to the ones I usually go for but I love them.

Narciso Rodriguez "Narciso"
Gucci "Bloom"

There you go, we both hope you really enjoyed this post, let us know if you' like to read more posts like this.

Happy birthday to my mommy

Mon's Kitchen: Bailey's Affogato

Coffee and ice cream, two of my favorite things in this world~ ♡

Bailey's recently came out with new ice cream and popsicles (at least I think they are kinda new...), I bought their ice cream because I tried Haagen Dazs' a long time ago and I loved it.
I have to admit that this one wasn't exactly my favorite so I decided to make affogato with it and it was totally worth it. I enjoyed it a lot more than eating the ice cream alone.

For those who don't know what Affogato is, it's an Italian coffee based dessert. Pretty much ice cream topped with hot coffee. It's something super simple, yet delicious.
Once the ice cream melts, it gives a creamy texture to your coffee, along with sweet foam. The combination is just too good!!
I just think they serve a lot less coffee when they make real affogato, my version has a full cup because, I love coffee.

I couldn't picture the ice cream before melting because, it happened
way too fast, hehe

For my affogato, I used the Starbucks house blend americano by Nescafรฉ Dolce Gusto. This one was not espresso but, is one of the stongest they have.

I've had vanilla and chocolate affogato before but the Bailey's ice cream gives it a liquorish taste without having any alcohol. Perfect for those who don't or can't drink alcohol.

This is a super easy to make drink/dessert I've been enjoying lately. The fun thing is, you can make it using your favorite ice cream, as long as it's milk based. (I think).

I kinda want to try with choco-mint ice cream now~~~~

Drugstore Beauty Haul

I can't remember the last time I did a makeup/beauty haul. Last month Walmart had a 2x1 in makeup and big sales lately so, I've been doing some shopping and I'm really excited to share them with you because I'm pretty happy with everything I got. I gave away some of the things I bought in 2x1 sales tho, so you won't be seeing them in this haul.
Plus, it's been a while since I walked through the makeup section in supermarkets.

I barely wear makeup these days but I've been testing them to write proper posts about some of them later this month.

Let's take a look at what I got:

First we have two liquid lippies from Maybelline. Both are from the Stay Matte Ink line and... both are pink! Haha. Even tho I do like matte lipsticks, they don't usually look good on my lips because of how dry they are, still I buy them. Hehe.
But it's different with this ones, they are creamy enough to look good on my dry lips.

"Inspirer" and "Dreamer"

Then we have the Revlon Photoready Rose Glow Primer. It is not my first time buying this product but, I ran out of it and had to repurchase it. Is defo one of my favorite primers atm.

I always try to buy mascaras during this 2x1 sales. Last year I got the L'Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume Black Mascara along with others I gave away and this time I got the Maybelline Lash Sensational waterproof mascara.
It is waterproof, which is good enough for me. I think I've mentioned this before but, I'm not too picky when it comes to mascaras. Plus, the color of the packaging is lovely. Hehe.

Next is the Revlon Ultra HD Vynil Lip Polish lippie. I couldn't find it for sale anymore. I fell in love with this particular color after my friend Ceci got it. For some reason this color was sold out everywhere. So I had to get the Wonder Woman version of it. The color is just gorgeous, I just have to see how good it actually is. I've seen and heard many good comments about this line so, we'll see.

"Birthday Suit"

Lastly we have a product that is not makeup but is still beauty related. And it's the Pond's Sensitive Micellar Water. I love to use micellar water to remove my makeup but, I haven't really tried this one. I'm cutrrently using the Nivea MicellAir, I need to finish before trying it. But the price was way too good to let it pass. I'm looking forward to try it tho.

And there you have it, you'll be seeing more from some of these products during the month with reviews and swatches.

I'll see you soon~ ♡

Mon's Kitchen: Spring Rolls

Quarantine has given me the time to practice my cooking a little more and take my time with it. My latest dish, and one I am really proud of, is Spring Rolls.

I know most of them are filled with vegetables and, as much as I like them, I wanted to include some kind of meat so, I made my own filling. Hehe. Then I saw many delicious things you can use to fill them. I wanna try them all! Haha.

Here are the ingredients I used:
Keep in mind I mostly use ready-to-cook or frozen ingredients... hehe

✦ 300g of minced chicken breast
✦ 500g of frozen veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and corn)
✦ Morimoto Rice Paper (package comes with 10 rice sheets)
✦ Blue Dragon Stir Fry Sauce
✦ White rice

To make the filling, I first cooked the chicken breast and seasoned it with some salt and garlic, then added the defrosted veggies to cook them a little too.

This amount was enough for the 10 rolls. I actually had some leftovers.

My favorite part was definitely making the rolls. It was my first time attempting to make them so I had no idea of how to use the rice paper. Instructions were very simple and easy to follow tho.
You just dip the sheet in water for a couple of seconds to make it softer, it also becomes sticky. Once it is soft, you put the filling and start to roll. The stickiness will help you to seal the rolls.
It was a lot of fun.

When your rolls are ready, you can eat them like that but, I decided to fry them. I thought they'd stick to the pan and tear but surpisingly, they didn't. For some reason, I was expecting them to become a bit golden brown after frying but I guess that happes when you use some other kind of sheets.

Rolls before frying

I chose white rice as a side dish but guess it was too much rice...? Idk.
The stir fry sause gave them that little extra something. They were really good.

I think they came out a little too big but considering it was my first time making them, they were not bad at all.

Yes To Grapefruit Unicorn Peel-Off Mask

I love facemasks! I do believe using them frequently can improve the way your skin looks and feels.
I've tried many different masks, from fancy to really cheap ones. Some of them are good enough to mention and others are just... bleh. So I decided to start sharing some of them every now and then and have Mask Mondays. ๐ŸŒŸ Hehe.

I'm gonna start with this Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Unicorn Peel-Off Mask not only because it is super cute but, because it also does the job.

no makeup face, ready for the mask!

Deets:
"Yes to making your skin care fantasies reality with Yes To Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Unicorn Peel-Off Mask it has glow-boosting skin care benefits combined with selfie appeal! Formulated with grapefruit to help visibly brighten and even skin tone, the fun, iridescent pink formula dries quickly and peels off to reveal glowing, naturally more radiant and smooth skin."

I haven't used many masks from "Yes To" but my experience with them has been good so far.
As far as I know most of the products from this brand use many natural ingredients. This one in particular claims to have 96% natural ingredients including: Grapefruit and Vitamin C.

The whole concept is iridecent and fun, from the package to the mask itself which has this pretty pearlish white color with a hint of pink.

It does have a strong, natural grapefruit scent so, you gotta keep that in mind if you don't like scented products.
Like most peel off masks, the formula is super thick and kinda sticky so I suggest using a spatula to apply it. You have to leave it on for 8 to 10 minutes and once it's completely dry, you peel.
Peeling is one of my favorite parts of using peel off masks, its very satisfying.
It comes off easily, removing all the dirt on your skin. You do have to rinse to get rid of the mask leftovers.

After using this mask, my skin felt really smooth but I didn't notice anything else until the next day. I woke up to a very healthy looking, smooth and bright skin.

This was meant to be for just one appliction but it lasted me for two. I didn't apply super thick layers but I made sure to cover my whole face.

I saw there is a bigger version of this Unicorn mask and I'm kinda tempted to buy it.
