We were waiting for this concert since April, when my friends, Diana and Dee Dee eonni, surprised me with tickets to see Epica as an early birthday gift. Time flew by and before we knew it, it was October 24th, concert day.
Since it was a week day, we all rushed after work to hit the road and make it on time to unpack at the Airbnb, get ready and meet to our friend Marlon outside of the Blackberry Auditorium.
Getting to Airbnb was such an adventure, we actually got lost and spent around 30 mins (or more) trying to find it. It was fun tho, at least we could check what was around the area and found the auditorium before getting there.
Us girls got all dolled up and the rain decided to join us on our way to the concert. Bye bye straight hair!
The concert was supposed to start at 8:30pm and I believe they started just in time or 10 minutes later, not sure, but we didn't have to wait much to see this amazing band live.
I know, some people may find it weird for me to like Epica. But I actually really do. I've been liking it for many years and listening to their music brings back so many good memories of happy days. I gotta say they are the only metal band I listen to tho, Simone Simons has to be one of the most beautiful women I know and... I have a crush on Mark Jansen.
What can I saw about the show? It was just epic! The band was amazing, the lights coordinating with the music were great, I got to swee Mark live and Simone... well, she's a perfect as I thought she'd be and so is her voice.
It was a great experience and I'm so glad I got to share it with some of the people I love the most. We had lots of fun, sang out loud, and had delicious dinner after the show at The Biarritz. Shrimp burrito and cold beer were just perfect to end the night.
You can imagine how tired we were after all the working, traveling, walking and singing. We called it a night around 2am~
This really is a great addition to all the great memories we've been making this year.
