Teacher's Day + Gifts!

Hi guys!
Last Friday we celebrated Teacher's Day! As every year, we got together for a nice meal, relaxing time and fun chats.

I know I've said it before but, I'm so lucky to work with a great group of people who are always supportive, friendly and I can keep learning from them. We've gone through a long journey since I started working there and I'm very thankful for everything.

Through all these years I've been working as a teacher, I've learnt a lot! And I think it has changed me a lot for the best. I know I have a lot to learn still but, that is the fun part! Not every day is the same when you work with kids, they are all different, fun, exhausting and very rewarding.

If you wanna read how my job has changed me make sure to click here! Hehe.
So I wanna wish a happy Teacher's day (even if it's a little late now) to every teacher out there! Especially to those who were my teachers, and the teachers I love and adore such as teacher friends and family. BIG CONGRATS because this is not an easy job, but I know it is one of the most challenging and beautiful ones. WE ROCK! Hehe.

Ok, moving on to the Teacher's day gifts! It's so cute how I started recieving them one day earlier! Thank you to all the parents and my kids for the lovely deets! I love them from the bottom of my heart!♥

YUMMIES

GOODIES

Not only I recieved gifts from school people but also from my dad and my friend, so big thank you to them too!! Some of the food stuff is not there anymore because...yeah, I ate it. Bwahaha!

✏ Teacher chit chat: How my job has changed me~

I don't share much about my job in this blog, and that is mainly because there are things that are meant to be kept as private. Especially working with kids.
As some of you know I'm an English teacher, and I work with preschool kids.

Honestly, I never, EVER thought I'd end up working with kids. When I was younger, I hated the idea of being a teacher, I didn't even liked to play the teacher when playing with my cousins and stuff.
But during my "I-don't-know-what-I- want-to-do-for-living" moment, somehow, I decided to give it a chance "while" I decided what I really wanted to do.
When I first started, I had no idea of how to teach or deal with kids. I didn't even liked kids!! It was my first time ever in front of a group and I had to work with 3 different groups!

I had no patience and didn't even knew if what I was doing was right. I was lucky enough to had the chance to work there being so unexperienced, and even luckier to have such great people as my co-workers who helped (and still do) me a lot through the years.

With time I've learned that my job, is one of the most beautiful ones. I get the chance to teach, share, learn, and maybe even be an important part of a human being's formation.
I spent most of my days with the kids, and I can tell not a single day is the same. They always make me laugh, they have a very unique way of seeing things, I'm amazed of how fast they learn (the good and the bad) and of course, I've seen the most sincere love.
I don't know if this will make any sense but I feel like working with kids has made me become more...human in a way? I don't know how to explain. Heh~~~~~

I think this 4 or 5 years I've been working as a teacher have been some of the greatest! Like I always say, I'm learning a lot about everything! Parenting, life, education, responsability, and the most important, I'm doing something I really enjoy. Hehe.
Kids are amazing! They keep surprising me everyday. They want to learn, they are always curious and even the most common thing can be amazing to them. I think we should learn from them and neve loose that excitement about everything we do or learn.

I could say I'm slowly becoming a teacher, with lots of help I've learned a lot and I know there is a lot more to come. I've became a much more patient and somewhat creative (in a way) person and I love spending time with my kids, in fact, I can't wait to have my own someday soon!!

I wish I could share my everyday at work with you all so you could see how fun it is. And if I can make a good difference, even if it's just a small one, in one (or more than one) kid's life; I definitely will be very proud of myself.

Teacher's Day Gifts

Last week we celebrated Teacher's day. The rest of the week got a little busy and I finally had the time to sit and check all my gifts, one by one. I usually get lots of cute notes and drawings from my kids when it's not Teacher's day, they always find a way to show you their love. But yeah, on Teacher's day we get some bigger gifts and I see it as a way from their parents to thank us for our work. It is so sweet to see how the kids are dying to give you what their parents got for you as soon as they see you, they look so happy to give you something. I got so many cute and yummy things this year! I'm so thankful! I am a lucky Teacher~!

Let's start with the yummies!
If someone gives me chocolates, they can't go wrong! I loooove them, and I'm always happy to eat them.
Part of what I got: Baileys Chocolate, truffles, Hershey's goodies, cherries covered in chocolate and cookies.

I also got a fairy figure which mom says means "good luck" especially when someone gives it to you as a gift. Sheep figure means fortune! They are both around my room now. Red Chinese lipstick keeper(?) I used to love them when I was younger, it was kinda cute to have one again after so long. As for accessories, I got a cute bracelet with grey pearls and a headband with a big, bright sunflower. It was picked by my student for me, I'll definitely use it to keep my hair off my face when applying face masks.
The heart shaped photo frame came along with the happy face pen, chocolates, the pink bear and a Hello Kitty sticker that is already on my laptop.
As for make-up, I got this lovely Mary Kay Lip Lacquer in Chai Latte. I rushed in and tried it the next day. It's one of those colors I like at the moment, very natural and peachy with good durability.

This is my first year getting some clothes for teacher's day! One of my kid's moms, gave me this pretty light blue short dress, it is a little different from what I usually wear but is really comfortable, I loved the color and perfect for this hot weather.

Some of the older kids that already know how to write gave me some sweet notes and drawings. I love my kiddos!
And, last Saturday we had a get together with my co-workers to celebrate Teacher's Day. I'm so happy and thankful to work with such amazing people!
